Hygiene unit

The design of AHUs as hygienically optimized systems is standard practice for us. The air supplied to a room should always meet the highest hygiene and quality requirements and never be of lower quality than the extracted air. Naturally, this is only the minimum standard we set for ourselves, which we significantly exceed for a wide range of applications and customer requirements.

We have extensive experience in hospital and cleanroom air conditioning, including demanding requirements for HEPA filtration, strict separation of air paths, high airtightness, as well as precise temperature and humidity control.

Suitable heat recovery system

We discuss your heat recovery (HR) requirements together with our engineers. Our AHU specialists offer various HR systems, including rotary and counterflow heat exchangers, double-plate exchangers, high-performance run-around coil systems (HKVS), and Ka2O counterflow modules with indirect evaporative cooling.

Integrated cooling generation

Traditionally, we provide cooling by means of an externally installed chiller or a heat pump. But it can also be integrated into the AHU. The advantage of integrating the refrigeration technology components is an extremely space-saving design, high operational reliability due to low fill volumes with short pipe runs, and high energy efficiency due to low distribution and downtime losses. In cascade configuration, over 500 kW is possible.

Casing technology

Limited space and difficult installation conditions are often decisive factors in unit design. It is a good thing that we design with the smallest grid dimension in Europe of 93.33 mm. Despite the compact size, you do not have to compromise on comfort and performance. Our specially developed casing profile makes a base frame unnecessary and enables optimal placement.

What does that mean for you? Easy installation thanks to stable individual modules that also fit through small openings. Of course, lifting eyes are always included as standard with us. In addition, our casing technology ensures lower sound power level.

Ventilation concepts with air handling units

Central ventilation and decentralized temperature control

Hybrid ventilation systems are AHU systems with efficient heat recovery. However, temperature control is provided by decentralized units inside the room and not by the central ventilation unit (AHU). Primary air is introduced only when needed. A CO2 sensor system monitors this exact demand. Otherwise, the decentralized units are operated with secondary air. 

Hybrid ventilation systems make sense because water as a transport medium is more efficient than air as a medium. Our Unit Heaters are perfectly suited for this in combination with our KaCompact unit series or individually engineered AHUs from our ventilation specialists.

Central ventilation and temperature control

Ventilation systems with air conditioning work ideally in combination with efficient air terminal components. For this purpose, the supply air is additionally heated after heat recovery (winter) or cooled if required (summer). In combination with swirl diffusers, circular duct outlets and slot diffusers, this ensures comfortable air distribution in the rooms. For this purpose, the KaCompact KG can be factory-fitted with a heating coil (heating) or a change-over coil (heating or cooling). Additional loads can also be covered at any time in combination with other secondary air units such as Fan Coils.
