New building that meets the highest energy efficiency standard
Building owner: NOFFZ Technologies GmbH
Town/City: Tönisvorst
NOFFZ Technologies GmbH, founded in 1989 by Dipl. Ing. Wilfried Noffz, is one of the most innovative mid-sized companies in Germany. And innovation means growth: the company that manufactures test and automation systems for a wide range of products for diverse industrial sectors has steadily grown since it was set up. Over 200 employees work at nine sites across three continents. The majority of them are working at the "Campus" in Tönisvorst, North Rhine-Westphalia, not far from Krefeld, which opened at the end of 2023.
The modern 5,500 square metre building complex extends over 15,500 square metres of land and includes development, administration, and manufacturing facilities. It can accommodate up to 300 employees with further growth in mind. The offices are designed as a flexible space concept and are air-conditioned by an acoustic heating and cooling ceiling. Sustainability and energy efficiency were important to NOFFZ Technologies GmbH: the Campus complies with the most stringent energy efficiency standard EC 40 EE – an important step toward the company's goal of becoming climate-neutral. In addition to a 400 kWp photovoltaic system, Kampmann heat pumps are an integral part of the energy concept.
Heat pumps are a fundamental technology in the heating transition. Anyone who uses heat pumps to heat and cool is well set up for the future. Firstly, heat pumps comply with the German Building Energy Act (GEG) and help to conserve the environment – but they also benefit from greater independence and low costs of operation, as heat pumps, such as the Kampmann KaClima, are very energy-efficient.
Two KaClima L heat pumps are installed on the roof of the new building at NOFFZ in Tönisvorst. By incorporating SG Ready and an EVU switch contact, the units thus meet the stringent Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA) requirements and so are eligible for state funding. Only a small amount of the environmentally-friendly refrigerant R32 circulates in the KaClima L, which results in a significantly lower CO2 equivalent of up to 75 percent while maintaining the cooling and heating output.
The KaClima L series is designed for an output range of from 22 to 98 kW and is equipped as standard with an integrated Modbus interface, main switch, dirt trap, and flow monitor. Precise supply temperature control guarantees a reliable and constant output from the connected units and thus seamless operation devoid of fluctuations.
