emco Klima presented new components for its round pipe system at the ISH 2017 in Frankfurt. The company’s system has been systematically broadened with the new products that are aimed at ensuring a uniform look and high levels of user comfort. The additions include a special silencer that comes with internal insulation and a sleeve for inspection and cleaning work in compliance with the hygiene requirements set out in VDI Guideline 6022. The components integrate harmoniously into the smooth look of the pipes used within the overall system of pipes. The manufacturer is furthermore the only company on the market to supply a pipe outlet that is adjusted with the help of an electric motor and that uses a differential temperature controller for greater heating and cooling comfort. The controller may be used in conjunction with the company’s broad range of other products, which includes air outlets, smooth pipes, fittings and connections in a variety of materials and colour finishes, that has been designed to help realise the perfect system of round pipes for almost any requirement – irrespective of whether that need is related to architecture or comfort.
Any required standard silencers or other special components may be installed in such a way that they are concealed as far as possible – frequently even outside the premises to be ventilated – so that they don’t interfere with the uniform look created with the system of round pipes. The silencer component that has been specially developed for visible areas by the Lingen-based specialist for ventilation and air-conditioning technology is – like all other round pipe system parts – supplied with a high-quality smooth pipe surface and may be connected to any pipe or fitting from DN 250. The same applies to the inspection sleeve, which consists of two half shells connected to each other and which is equipped with an easily accessible locking mechanism. It is recommended that the component be fitted at regularly spaced intervals in the round pipe system for the purposes of allowing the necessary inspection and cleaning work to be carried out. The inspection sleeve further makes it possible to conceal the installation of volume-flow controllers while simultaneously enabling easy access for any subsequent adjustments as well as for cleaning and maintenance.
It’s also additionally always installed behind a pipe outlet, which comes with an electric motor for adjustment, and that is only available from the Lingen-based manufacturer. The Type RRA-V air diffuser that has been designed to create a variety of variously shaped jets for cooling and heating applications possesses a high-quality servomotor and is particularly suitable for realising air-conditioning installed for the purposes of increasing comfort at greater heights and in particularly sensitive areas. Electrical connections that have been pre-wired at the factory make for fast and simple system installation. The switch from heating to cooling may also be controlled with a differential temperature controller. The autonomous control solution continuously monitors the temperature difference between the air admitted and the air in the room and automatically opens or closes the pipe outlet’s eccentric rollers to create the required shape of the jet of air.
The emcoMFR temperature differential controller (TDR) consists of a mains and a power component (controller) as well as a sensor for monitoring the temperatures of the air admitted and the air already in the room. The control operates completely independently on the basis of two different setpoint curves that have already been programmed at the factory in accordance with the planning specifications. Manual switching between heating and cooling or system monitoring is not necessary. The control comes with four digital inputs for external control, four analogue inputs for detecting the temperature of the air in the room and of the air admitted and eight analogue outputs. Up to 30 servomotors and thus up to 30 pipe outlets that can be adjusted with the help of electric motors may in principle be connected to a TDR for parallel operation.
