Kampmann is the new Presenting Partner of the German Open
The Lingen-based heating, cooling and air conditioning specialist is committed to tennis and is a sponsor of the ATP tournament at the Hamburg Rothenbaum
Lingen (Ems), 2 February 2018. Kampmann GmbH is once again focussing on sports sponsorship. After many years of involvement with dressage, the Lingen-based HVAC manufacturer is embarking on an involvement with tennis: with immediate effect Kampmann will be presenting the German Open Tennis Championships to be held at the Hamburg Rothenbaum at the end of July 2018. Tournament Director Michael Stich looks forward to the partnership-based cooperation.
The German Open Tennis Championships 2018 presented by Kampmann (21-29 July 2018), with prize money of €1.6 million, is one of the biggest and also one of the most traditional tennis tournaments on German soil. The Hamburger Rothenbaum is synonymous with world-class tennis and has been witness to so many epic matches in the past. Tournament Director Michael Stich was the last German professional to win the tournament in 1993. However, that is not the only thing that connects the 1991 Wimbledon champion to the Rothenbaum. Michael Stich was born not far from Hamburg and has an intimate relationship with the tournament:. “It is an event to which I have been connected for almost 40 years. As a child, I was totally engrossed as a spectator, then as a player I celebrated my most emotional tournament win at the Rothenbaum, and I have now been Tournament Director for ten years. As a result, my heart is very much attached to this traditional event in my home town,“ acknowledges Michael Stich in an interview.
Stich is extremely happy about appointing Kampmann as the new Presenting Partner: “I am thrilled about this partnership and, together with Kampmann, look forward to offering our spectators a great event. I have got to know Kampmann as a company that acts with passion and enthusiasm. Our entire team is also totally motivated and enthusiastic about the German Open.”
However, that it not the only reason that Kampmann decided to become involved with the German Open. Managing Director Hendrik Kampmann explains: “Tennis is an attractive popular sport, which is currently attracting large numbers of children and young people. And particularly when you experience tennis live, you experience how athletic, dynamic and exciting the sport is.” Naturally Kampmann is also interested in increasing its brand presence. As the Presenting Partner, its name will appear on all kinds of different media. The tournament will also be broadcast worldwide to more than 50 countries as one of the major events on the ATP tour. Michael Stich adds: “We have a very family-orientated and relaxed atmosphere at the Rothenbaum with a fantastic accompanying programme of events. Alongside thrilling matches, families can also have great fun off the courts and experience a wonderful time in the grounds. We’ve really tried to make the German Open into an event for the whole family. That is really important to us and is something we are proud of.”
