The JUFA Hotel Hamburg HafenCity welcomes its guests with a jolly “AHOY!” and a pleasant air curtain in the porch of the entrance before they enter the lobby furnished with comfortable and design-orientated lounge furniture. The “AHOY!” is an indication that we are overlooking Hamburg’s Baakenhafen harbour. And the Kampmann door air curtain guarantees that the cool sea air, prone to blowing up the River Elbe, remains outside.

HafenCity is a trendy district of the city, which is so young that it is still evolving. Cool bars, trendy restaurants, modern residential apartments and sophisticated hotels shape the district. The JUFA Hotel Hamburg HafenCity blends perfectly into this mix, but also surprises with its systematic focus on families: The JUFA describes itself as “Hamburg’s family-friendly city-centre hotel”. Special family offers, and indoor and outdoor play areas underline this approach. An outstanding indoor climate concept is also part and parcel of a modern hotel.

The controlled supply of fresh air into the rooms is part of the hotel’s indoor well-being climate. This delivers fresh, pleasant air, at the same time ensuring that the air is hygienically clean. To achieve this, the JUFA relies on the Kampmann FZAS decentralised ventilation system. Outside air is fed in directly through the façade, obviating the need for bulky supply ducts. The FZAS is also capable of heating and cooling and can be adjusted individually by each guest to achieve their perfect indoor climate. 210 FZAS units are installed in the JUFA Hotel Hamburg HafenCity and are therefore essentially the key air conditioning unit in the bedrooms.

Venkon fan coils are used where it was structurally impossible to install an FZAS unit. The unit is a standard in hotel fit-outs as it is market-leading quiet. Its output, efficiency and hygiene certification are further key selling arguments.

Also worth mentioning is the installation of a Katherm QK trench heater, which prevents incoming cold air in the indoor play area and the site heaters that prevented weather-related interruptions to construction and so helped the hotel to open on schedule.
